AAI’s Diana Moss participated in a May 26th OECD webinar on “Merger Control in Times of Crisis” as part of the organization’s competition policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. A video recap of her remarks at the OECD virtual event can be found here. Moss focused on merger assessment in uncertain times, remedies, and failing firm defenses, highlighting the difficult competition issues raised by rapid changes in important markets during the COVID-19 crisis and the consolidation proposals resulting from it. The analysis builds on AAI’s expanding research and advocacy on critical issues around antitrust enforcement during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in the food supply chain and the healthcare system. Competition authorities from around the world participated in the OECD webinar.
