In an era of global supply chains and large multinational enterprises, AAI works to “connect the dots” between domestic and international competition enforcement.
With more than 140 competition agencies operating around the world, U.S. consumers, businesses and enforcement agencies interact with foreign enforcers in myriad ways. Convergence around appropriate procedural norms, development of sound extraterritoriality rules and comity principles, and harmonization of competition and trade policy are key policy objectives. AAI advocates for strong civil and criminal remedies when foreign firms harm U.S. victims and collaborative and respectful attitudes toward principled foreign enforcement regimes operating in good faith.
