The U.S. Department of Justice deserves significant credit for its anti-cartel enforcement activities. But there are opportunities for improvement, as other jurisdictions often surpass the U.S. in imposing fines. AAI has played a central role in supporting both public and private anti-cartel enforcement, including suggesting approaches to procedural issues and ensuring optimal deterrence through penalties and fines.
