The American Antitrust Institute (AAI) and the Committee to Support the Antitrust Laws (COSAL) are pleased to announce that Megan Jones has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Hollis Salzman Memorial Leadership Award. Jones will be honored at AAI’s Awards Night on November 6, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
Megan Jones is Co-Chair of Hausfeld’s Antitrust practice group, where she focuses on protecting competition in U.S. markets, making sure businesses can flourish without price-fixing or other antitrust harms. Based in California’s Bay Area, Jones brings more than 20 years of experience in antitrust class actions and is recognized as a prominent negotiator for antitrust settlements. She has recovered close to $4 billion for businesses harmed by anticompetitive activity.
As one of the few women in the plaintiffs’ bar inducted into the Legal 500 Hall of Fame for continued excellence in litigation, Jones has built a national reputation the old-fashioned way—by being a trusted team member in the trenches. “Megan is a titan of the antitrust bar and someone who colleagues describe as a force of nature,” said AAI President Randy Stutz. “She is known for creating effective multi-firm teams, developing litigation strategy with input from diverse perspectives, and exemplifying the highest standards of collegiality in every aspect of her work within the private enforcement community.”
“Like me, Megan was mentored directly by Hollis,” said Judith Zahid, the 2023 recipient of the Hollis Salzman Memorial Leadership Award. “In turn, Megan has gone to great lengths to mentor younger attorneys at her firm—gently encouraging them to be heard in court or learn the nuances of deposition strategy. She educates and guides all along the way, which I’ve witnessed firsthand in cases she has led.”
Jones has also been deeply engaged in professional service. She is active in both COSAL and AAI. She served the American Bar Association as a committee vice chair and Council member, chaired the steering committee for the Cambridge Institute’s Forum on Antitrust Litigation, and recently co-chaired the Antitrust Law and Economics Institute for Federal Judges.
“Megan is known for advancing women in the plaintiffs’ bar by teaching practical skills, encouraging networking, and fostering mentorship,” said COSAL President Pamela Gilbert. “She founded Women Antitrust Plaintiffs’ Attorneys (WAPA) to promote community and create opportunities for women in antitrust law.”
AAI and COSAL created the Hollis Salzman Memorial Leadership Award in 2021 to honor the life of Hollis Salzman, a friend, colleague, and incomparable member of the antitrust community. One of the nation’s leading antitrust attorneys, Salzman spent more than 25 years litigating some of the world’s largest cases and recovered over $2 billion in settlements for victims of antitrust cartel and unfair competition practices. She was a champion of gender equality and diversity in her profession, embracing her role as a mentor and role model to other female attorneys, and helping to inspire them to shine on their own merit. “Women can succeed and lead blockbuster investigations, even in a male-dominated field, without losing their identity or acting in a way that is not true to themselves,” Salzman noted. Her tireless dedication to advocating on behalf of women included an extensive pro bono practice representing indigent women and victims of domestic violence.
