Terry v. Tyson Farms (Packers and Stockyards Act)

The AAI joined numerous farmer and consumer groups in filing an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to grant certiorari to reverse several appellate decisions narrowing the federal protections of poultry farmers under the Packers and Stockyards Act from unfair and deceptive practices by monopsonistic poultry processors.  Specifically the brief urges the Court to reject the lower courts’ engrafting of an “injury to competition” requirement on to the Act.  The brief was written by AAI Advisory Board member David Balto.
