AAI is proud to announce its 2026–2027 Research Fellow, Beryl Emmerich. Ms. Emmerich is a 2026 graduate of Harvard Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude and worked as a research assistant for Professors Louis Kaplow and Henry Smith. During her summers, she interned at the Federal Trade Commission’s Technology Enforcement Division and at Cleary Gottlieb. Prior to law school, Ms. Emmerich served as a paralegal for the Federal Trade Commission and worked in economic consulting on antitrust matters. She also holds an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an undergraduate M.A. in Applied Economics from the University of St Andrews.
As a Research Fellow, Ms. Emmerich will contribute to AAI’s advocacy efforts and pursue her own research project. She is particularly interested in how competition policy can promote innovation, affordability, and access in healthcare markets.
Ms. Emmerich is a recipient of the Redstone Fellowship in Public Service, a part of Harvard Law School’s Public Service Venture Fund.
