George Slover

Senior Policy Counsel

George Slover is a senior policy counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Consumers Union, the public policy and advocacy division of Consumer Reports.  His responsibilities include overseeing antitrust and competition policy issues, and also helping develop and coordinate the organization’s regulatory comments related to its advocacy across a wide range of policy issues, including safety, telecommunications, energy, and finance.  Slover has three decades of federal government policy experience, with service in all three branches, including as counsel to the House Judiciary Committee, counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and attorney-advisor for legal policy at the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division.  He also served as advisor to the Antitrust Modernization Commission.  In addition to his service on AAI’s advisory board, Slover is currently co-chair of the DC Bar’s Antitrust and Consumer Law Section, and is an elected member of the American Law Institute.  He holds a J.D. from the University of Texas Law School and a master of public affairs from the LBJ School.
