  • Overview

AAI’s Kathleen Bradish, Vice President and Director of Legal Advocacy, spoke on the panel, “The Google Monopoly Ruling and the Future of Tech Competition” at the IPWatchdog LIVE Conference. From the panel description:

A recent case Judge Amit Mehta of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia dubbed “remarkable,” the court ruled that “Google is a monopolist” and that the search engine has violated Section 2 of the Sherman Act. This panel will discuss the decision, what it means to be a monopolist, what the ruling likely means for Google, how this decision may change the landscape for high-tech competition, and what the ruling means for lawsuits filed by others, such as the recent lawsuit filed by Yelp against Google for monopolistic behavior.
