Gregory T. Gundlach
Coggin Distinguished Professor of Marketing
On April 29, AAI Senior Fellow and Director Gregory Gundlach participated in the launch of the new OECD Report: Competition Policy in the Mexican Grocery Retail Industry 2019. Gundlach is the Coggin Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the University of North Florida. The report, authored by OECD Competition Expert, Niccolò Comini, was in collaboration with the Mexico Ministry of Economy. Dr. Gundlach unpacked the OECD report, highlighting key areas that should be given priority by competition enforcers and economic development regulators. These include the importance of competition in retail grocery in Mexico, its role in broader economic development and specific concerns over buyer power.
AAI is pleased to work with the OECD and Mexican and other competition enforcers and policymakers in promoting vigorous enforcement and competition policy. In October 2018, AAI provided insight and reaction to an OECD report on market assessments and competition in the food processing sector.
