  • Overview

On June 1, 2022, AAI’s Diana Moss joined the Bipartisan Policy Center’s discussion on big tech. The conference description on the BPC website:

While debate on legislation addressing “Big Tech” and antitrust concerns could come as soon as next week, BPC is announcing a new project to identify bipartisan recommendations on competition and antitrust, focusing on interoperability and portability. Regardless of congressional action, macro-level policy considerations surrounding big tech remain and are likely to reemerge. Data portability and interoperability have often been promoted as ways to increase competition between digital platforms, but there is a debate on when and how data portability and interoperability could be implemented and how effective they would be in boosting competition and innovation. Panel discussion with:

Dr. Diana L. Moss,  President, American Antitrust Institute

Dr. Mark Jamison, Director and Gunter Professor, Public Utility Research Center, University of Florida

Herbert Hovenkamp, James G. Dinan University Professor at The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School

Sumit Sharma, Senior Researcher, Technology Competition, Consumer Reports

John Soroushian, Associate Director, BPC (Moderator)
