In a May 9, 2006, letter to FTC staff, AAI says that crucial data relating to pricing of brokers' commissions can best be obtained by use of Commission's compulsory investigatory authority. Attached to cover letter are an article by Norman Hawker (Western Michigan Univ.) summarizing AAI's symposium on real estate competition and an article by Darren Bush (Houston Law Center) analyzing the FTC's authority including a proposed CID to be issued to the industry.
