Transcript from June 11 Conference Call Discussing Intel

On Wednesday, June 11, 2008, the American Antitrust Institute hosted a conference call to discuss the significance of the US Federal Trade Commission’s recently announced formal investigation into Intel’s business practices.  Albert Foer, President, American Antitrust Institute and Robert Lande, Secretary, American Antitrust Institute and Venable Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore, discussed the importance of the FTC’s investigation from a legal and regulatory perspective; the difference between a formal and informal investigation; the relationship between the FTC’s investigation and other antitrust regulators’ actions against Intel around the world (including South Korea’s ruling against Intel last week); and potential short- and long-term implications for the industry.
